What is DoD 8570?

The U.S. Department of Defense Directive 8570 (DoD 8570) provides guidance and procedures for the training, certification, and management of government employees and contractors who perform Information Assurance functions.  DoD 8570 was developed to ensure a knowledgeable and skilled workforce and insure the credentialing and continuing education of all employees with privileged access to DoD information systems.
